Capone

Looking for a snuggle buddy at night? And a walking/running partner during the day? Do you have time to help a furry fella understand house rules, take some obedience classes, and learn how great it is to be loved by a patient human? Read on- perhaps Capone is the one for you!

Capone is a handsome 10-year-old Shepherd mix. His short coat coloring is tan with white, and a black muzzle. This cutie is an absolute sweetheart!

Capone is active and playful, and good with kids and adults. He seems very protective of his 'people'.

Capone is an escape artist! He is an excellent fence jumper, and requires a sturdy, tall fence that he can't go over or dig under, and perhaps an enclosed run or outside play area.

Capone would benefit from socialization; regular daily exercise and obedience training recommended.

We've also observed he's good with female dogs, but not male dogs.

Ace

Ace may just be the dog for you! He is about 1 year of age and is Labrador mix. Ace was a stray, but now safe at our shelter and needing a home. He is a bit timid, but warms up to you after a short time. His coat is mainly black, with white on nose, chest and toes. Quite the charmer.

Arlow

Arlow is about 5.5 years of age (DOB: 1/7/21). A male Pit Bull Terrier mix. This is a handsome boy who has been well taken care of. Arlow's coat coloring is black and white. The white is on chest and front and back of paws. Arlow seems to like other dogs and wants to play with them, if they aren't dominate dogs. Arlow can be somewhat food agressive, just a caution in case you have other dogs. He was frightened when first being surrendered to our shelter, but certainly people friendly now. This is a sweet boy that you will want to meet.

Atlas

Update-Trying out a home for a week! Atlas is a male Mastiff mix. He was brought in by Randall County Shjeriff's Dept. This is a large dog, who appears to be at lease 1 year of age, and quite possibley a bit older. He is brindle in his coat coloring and has black spots on his tongue. Atlas came in with a wagging tail and wants to give kisses to everyone. A good looking boy for sure.

Baloo

Baloo is about 1-2 years of age. He is a Labrador Retriever mix. He has a solid black body. Baloo is shy at first, then playful and ready for a good time. Baloo loves to run and play outside, so needs someone to walk or run with him. Baloo has lots of energy, but he seems a bit nervous around other dogs. He may be a 'people' dog, and just likes love and attention from his persons.

B.B.

B.B is a 5 year old Chihuahua mix. She was a rescue after her owner passed away. B.B. would be best in a home with no children. She is a bit scared and nippy right now. However, she is friendly in a calm and quiet environment; just shy until she gets to know you. (approx DOB 6/20/20)

Bear

Bear is a 4 1/2 years old, Shar-Pei. His coat coloring is a dark chocolate. This is quite the handsome guy! Bear came to us from the Canyon Animal Control, as he was probably dumped somewhere in Canyon. Bear weighs approximately 65 pounds. He is a sweet boy, and a very strong dog. Bear is active and playful and likes men and women. We don't know if he's been around children. Caution: If you raise your hand too fast around Bear, he backs up. We think he might have been hit at some point. We hope you will come meet Bear! (approx DOB 10/20/2020)

Bella

Bella is a 10 year old (DOB: 4/1/2015), Shepherd mix, who has been at our shelter for a few years. She is fawn or light brown with black in her coat coloring. Bella was adopted in 2018, but back to our shelter in 2022. This girl needs a 'forever' home where she is loved. Possibly with no other dogs.

Blitzen

Blitzen is a 3 year old, indoor pet. He appears to be Chihuahua mix. Coat coloring is tan. Blitzen is crate trained, quiet, and likes men and women. We think he would be great with kids too. Blitzen isn't housebroken, so will need instruction. He is good with other dogs, but introduce slowly to any other animals. (approx DOB 12/16/21)

Brooks

Brooks is about 3 year old and may be a Carolina Dog mix. Coloring is light brown and white. He was found at Thompson Park in early December and never claimed. Brooks has lots of energy and probably needs a home with a family; maybe some children. (approx DOB 6/2/2022).UPDATE- Brooks is currently getting some off site attention in a foster home! If you would like to meet him, call ahead for a time.

Capone

Capone is a 9-year-old Shepherd mix. Capone is active and playful, and good with kids and adults. Capone seems very protective of his 'people'. This sweet girl is Cookie. She is a 4 year old (approx. DOB: Spring 2021). Cookie is a Pit Bull Terrier mix. She was found outside SPCA, tied to a crate. She was pregnant, and almost immediatly delivered her puppies here at our shelter. Cookie was certainly a good momma to those pups. Now Cookie needs a home of her own, a 'forever' home. Cookie is a sweet girl, active and playful and good with other dogs. Her coat coloring is tan with some brown. Full grown and sort of small to medium in size.

Cookie is just 10 months old (DOB: 8/3/2024), and appears to be a mix breed, perhaps some Labrador and Collie mix. She's a beauty in her black & white coat. She was surrendered because her owners felt they were too old to give Cookie the life she needed and things she deserved. Cookie is a very sweet and loving dog. She has lots of energy, being a pup, and is very playful. Cookie is good with other dogs. She has been around men, women and children. She does like to chew some, so needs toys, as well as someone to spend time with her.

Delilah

Delilah is a Black Lab mix, 13 1/2 years old (DOB: 11/2011). This 'senior' sweetheart is back at our shelter once again and needing a forever home. She has a short haired coat, gentle eyes and a ready ‘smile’. She is such a sweet girl, who loves to cuddle and get attention. Delilah is great with people and will be your best friend/loyal companion. She loves to go for walks, play in pools and her favorite treat just might be peanut butter! Delilah tends to be bossy/dominant with other female dogs. It's difficult to break them up, if they happen to get into a scuffle. She may be ok with older male dogs, or as an only dog in your household. Probably best to go to a home with older children as well. Delilah was apparently housetrained but we do recommend supervision in a new home, possibly crating her at night and when she is home alone in the day until she can be taught the house rules.

Ginger

UPDATE-Adopted!! Ginger was a surrender to our shelter, due to owners moving to Dallas and couldn't take her. She is a Corgi mix and is 9 months old. Coat coloring is tan and white. Ginger needs a new home. She was surrerendered along with another dog, so we know she gets along with other dogs.

Jax

Meet JAX . . . This guy is a Shepherd/Husky mix. He is 7 months old, born in April 2025. Jax is at our shelter and really wants to be adopted before the Holidays. Jax is okay with other dogs, This boy is friendly, but a little timid too.

Khloe

UPDATE-Trying out a home for a week!! Khloe is a 9 1/2 year old (DOB: 4/1/16), female American Staffordshire Terrier. We rescued Khloe from Amarillo-Panhandle Humane Society in 2017, when she was a year old. She is a good looking, white with black spotted dog, who is medium in size. Due to a recent accident, Khloe lost her back left leg. She didn't let that stop her one bit! She is active and playful. Khloe might be a bit aggressive with other dogs, so should probably be an 'only dog'. We don't know if she is housebroken. Will certainly need instruction in a new home environment, as she has been at the shelter awhile. This is not a dog for a home with young children. Do come visit Khloe at the Amarillo SPCA. She needs a loving home.

Koda

Koda is a tan & white Terrier mix. Koda is about 4 years old (DOB:5/5/21). Dog Scanner indicated this dog could be part Canaan Dog. We really don't know the breed mix. He is quite active and playful, good with adults and children. This is a cutie, extremely friendly and sweet; just full of fun! Koda is medium in size. He is crate trained and good with other dogs. Koda plays fetch, cuddles on the bed, and loves treats. He has learned 'sit', 'lay down' and 'kennel'.

Kriss

Kriss is a Shepherd mix medium in size. (pup on right). He is about 1 1/2 years old (born February 2025). He has a beautiful brindle coat. Kriss likes people, and seems a quiet guy. He was a bit frightened when coming to our shelter and hid often in the corner of his kennel and may need an adjustment period in a new home. This summer he has come out of his shell and enjoyed outdoor water fun with his new friends. Kriss wants a home with people who will spend time with him and give him lots of love.

Luna

Luna is an Australian Shepherd mix, and is about 1-2 years of age. Luna was surrendered to our shelter, as being too much to handle for her owners. She is a high energy girl! Luna is a friendly dog who now needs a new home. She will need a fenced yard. Her coat coloring is mostly white, with some brown and black added here and there.

Maverick

Maverick is Siberian Husky & Pit Bull Terrier mix. He is 7 months old (DOB:10/29/25). We also have some od his siblings for adoption. Coat coloring is black with white. Cute little guy with loads of energy, and ready for a home with a family to love, and be loved by.

Miles

Miles was abandoned in a crate in front of our shelter, along with his siblings. We are guessing a date of birth about mid February, 2024. So Miles is just about 1 year of age. He is a Labrador mix. He is friendly and good with other dogs. Coloring is lots of white with big black spots. Miles is ready to find a home of his very own.

Misty

Misty is a female, perhaps Border Collie/Shepherd mix. We think she is about 3 months old. She and her siblings Sunny, Winter and Rayne, were left in a crate outside the front of our shelter. Misty is brindle color. We hope you will come meet them all

Mitzi

Mitzi is 5 1/2 years old (DOB: 1/12/2021), and possibly part Parsons Russell Terrier and Pointer. She is a little sweetheart, but very shy. She is friendly, just somewhat nervous around people, and you must gain her trust. Mitzi needs someone to give her a home with lots of love, patience and attention. She has had minimum leash training. Mitzi is an indoor pet; housebroken and crate trained. She doesn't care for other dogs, so needs to be an 'only' dog. Also a home with no children, or much older children. You may want to know, Mitzi loves hotdogs.

Mr. Heart

Mr. Heart is about 1 1/2 years of age. He is a Labrador mix, with possibly some Pitt in the mix, we aren't sure. In March 2024, Mr. Heart was found on the road between Fritch and Amarillo, and brought to our shelter. This is such a sweet dog, he is friendly and likes people. He is high energy, and climbs and can jump high. He needs someone who can spend time with him, playing and exercising. He will also need a yard with a tall, secure fence if he spends much time outside. He loves to chase balls and enjoys pool time. He's good with other dogs. Mr. Heart loves meal time and is a good eater, but doesn't seem to put on any extra weight. He enjoyed a day of play at Canine Country Club 8-3-25. Olaft

Olaft is about 6 1/2 months old, (DOB:4/20/2025). His momma is a Sheepdog and daddy was a Great Dane. Olaft's coloring is white with brown and black on face, and some brown blotches. Olaf has been with a foster family and is now kennel trained, potty trained, good with other dogs. He loves to sleep in his kennel with the door open. UPDATE-Olaft is currently offsite in a foster home. If you would like to meet Olaft, please schedule an appointment to do so.

Ollie

Ollie is about 4 months old (born mid to late April, 2026), and is a Pit Bull Terrier pup. He was found abandoned by the lake, and is now an SPCA dog and available for adoption. A cute little tan & white guy who needs a home and family of his very own.

Orion

This is Orion, who is less than 1 year of age, and may possibly be Australian Shepherd mix. He is a good looking white dog, who was dumped/abandoned. Orion has piercing blue eyes and a great smile. He is very well behaved; just a bit shy and timid.

Otis

UPDATE-Trying out a home for a week! Otis is a young Belgian Shepherd Malinois. He is about 6 months old. Otis was a stray, brought to our shelter by a Potter County Sheriff's Officer. A handsome boy, whose coloring is brindle, with a bit of white. He is a bit frightened right now. Our staff and volunteers will be working with him. Otis's left eye has been shot with a BB gun. Otis needs an owner who knows how to handle a Belgian Shepherd.

Ozzy

Ozzy is possibly a Dobermann/Australian Shepherd mix. He is about 8 months old (born mid Dec. 2025). Ozzy has pretty brown eyes, and a slender body. The angle of picture makes his head appear a bit large, which it isn't. We have Ozzy and his brothers and sisters available for adoption. We hope you will come meet Ozzy.

Paige

Paige is about 8 months old and weighs approximately 40 pounds and still growing. We believe she is Labrador mix, with possibly some American Staffordshire Terrier in her mix. Paige was abandoned, along with several siblings. All left in crates outside the Amarillo SPCA. Paige is certainly used to being around other dogs. Her coloring is white, with big black spots (that I'm sorry you can't see in this picture).

Paloma

Paloma is a Boxer mix and is soon to be 9 months old (DOB: 5/6/2025). Coloring is tan with white face, chest and paws. Paloma was an owner surender, due to having no time to give attention needed for this dog. Paloma is housebroken, knows basic commands. She is friendly around people and gets along well with other dogs. We hope you will come meet her at the shelter.

Puggie

Puggie was surrendered after his owner passed away. He is a bit shy and timid right now and our volunteers and staff will be working closely with him. We know he is probably missing a loving home. Puggie is about 5 years old and is a Chiweenie. Coat coloring is brown, with white on chest and on one foot. He is super cute! He's got those little legs and Dachshund feet.

Quinn

Quinn is a 1-2 year old 50 pound Terrier mix. Her coat is black with some white, and she is a medium size dog. Quinn's coat is rather wiry too. She is a cute, sweet little dog, but very shy right now. Our volunteers and staff will be working with her. Quinn was brought to our shelter after spending some time on the street, so may take an extra bit of love and kindness.

Raspy

This sweet, smiling boy is named RASPY. He is 7 1/2 months old (DOB: Sept. 28, 2025). Raspy is a small to medium sized Chihuahua/Dachshund mix. His short coat coloring is white & cream. Raspy was an owner surrender. They said he was shy, timid, cuddly and sweet. He has been an indoor pet, good with other dogs. He seems to prefer women and we don't know if Raspy has been in a home with or around children. He does need house training.

Raven

Meet Raven! She is a 1 year old Labrador Retriever mix. She was found between Pampa and Amarillo, in mid December and just brought to our shelter January 9th. She has no microchip. Raven is a dark, dark chocolate brown, nearly black, with white chest and 4 white paws. She even has spots on her paws. This is a friendly girl, who loves people. Raven has energy plus and the wagginist tail ever. An indoor/outdoor pet, who is crate trained, but will need instruction in housetraining. Only other training is to "sit".

Rowan

Rowan is about 1-3 years old and is Pit Bull Terrier mix. His coloring is brindle. Rowan was left in a crate out front of Amarillo SPCA, along with another dog. He does get along with other dogs, and is friendly with people. We have no other information on Rowan.

Ruby

Ruby is a young, red Heeler mix. She is a very sweet, happy and friendly girl. Ruby is reddish brown in her coloring and has a white chest. Such pretty, friendly eyes too. She seems to get along well with most people but may be best with just adults and older children. She does prefer a calm environment. Ruby is okay with other dogs. We don't know about house training, and she may need instruction in a new home environment.

Ruffie

Ruffie is a dark brown, 5 1/2 years old, Labrador Retriever/Pit Bull Terrier mix. He was in foster care until he was 6-8 months old, then brought to our shelter. He gets along well with other dogs. Coloring is dark brown with white. (est DOB 10/7/19)

Rylan

Rylan is a German Shepherd mix born 2/14/2025. He was adopted as a pup but is now back at the shelter looking for a family that can provide a forever loving home! l. Rylan is a large fella and a very sweet boy. He would make a great running or walking buddy! His coat coloring is brown with black and a bit of white on chest. Rylan has pretty eyes too. He will need instruction in house training as each home has different rules.

Sadie

Meet Sadie! She is a Pit Bull Terrier, and is about 1-2 years of age. Sadie was found and brought to our shelter by Randall County Sheriff's Department. She is white with cream coloring throughout her body. Sadie is medium size and she seems to like being taken care of by our kennel crew. But Sadie needs a home she can call her own.

Sawyer

This is Sawyer! He is a 6-7 month old Labrador/Pit Bull Terrier mix. His coloring is white with tan. Sawyer is a sweet, playful little guy, who will be medium size when grown. We had his sister Mika here at our shelter, but she got adopted. Hope you will come meet Sawyer.

Simon

Simon was abandoned in a crate in front of our shelter, along with his siblings. We are guessing a date of birth about mid February, 2024. So Simon is just about 1 year of age. He is a Labrador mix. He is friendly and good with other dogs. Coloring is lots of black with white on face & chest.

Skye

We would like you to meet SKYE! We think she is about 5 years old. According to the Dog Scanner App, Skye is a mix of multiple breeds: American Pit Bull Terrier 21.6 %, Rat Terrier 15.9%, Brazilian Terrier 11.8% and Chihuahua 10.7%. Not sure what a DNA test would show. Skye was rescued off the streets in July 2021, by a woman who kept her awhile, then brought to Amarillo SPCA. She was an indoor/outdoor pet and is crate trained. She is doing fair at our shelter, but somewhat terrified of everyone. Also frightened of loud noises. If you are interested in Skye, she will need multiple visits before she could go home with anyone. She will need lots of time, patience, love and socialization. But this good-looking dog does need a loving, 'forever' home. (est DOB 1/12/20)

Slate

Slate is a male Australian Cattle Dog (Blue Heeler), and is about 1 year of age. This friendly and playful boy is high energy, just like all other blue heelers who are intelligent and energetic. He is low maintenance when it comes to grooming, but Slate will certainly need daily exercise. He needs an active owner for sure. Slate's coloring is mixture of white and grey with spots, a bit of brown on side and back, then with black on face and ears. A handsome boy!

Toby

Meet Toby! He is 7 to 8 years of age and is a Staffordshire Terrier. This is a medium-sized, friendly boy. His coloring is blue gray, and he has pretty brown eyes.

Topper

Topper is a mixed breed, and we are thinking Portuguese Podengo/Carolina Dog mix. She is about 2 1/2 years old (DOB: February 2024). Topper is very active and wants lots of attention. She likes to be around people. She loves to play with toys and to play in the big puppy pools. Topper's coat coloring is brown, and just look at those pointed ears. This is a friendly girl who likes babies, toddlers, children of all ages, and adults: she doesn't know what stranger means. You will fall in love with Topper when you meet her! Topper is also good with other dogs. She will need instruction in house training.

Tucker

Tucker is Siberian Husky & Pit Bull Terrier mix. He is 7 months old (DOB:10/29/25). We also have a couple of his siblings for adoption. Tucker's coat coloring is black with white. Cute little guy with loads of energy, and ready for a home with a family to love, and be loved by.

Wellington

Wellington was abandoned in a crate in front of our shelter, along with his siblings. We are guessing a date of birth about mid February, 2024. So Wellington is just about 1 year of age. He is a Labrador mix. He is friendly and good with other dogs. Coloring is lots of black with white on right side of muzzle. Also white chest & white leg socks with speckles. A mix of coloring on this boy! He is very ready for a home of his own.

Willow

Willow is Husky/Shepherd mix. She is only 5 months old and was born in April of 2025. She was abandoned in a home when her owners moved out. Willow is needing a new home that offers love and care. Her coloring is mostly black with a white chest. Willow is active and playful and good with other dogs. She likes adults and children. Willow will need house training and some basic training. She's been mostly outside but wants to come in and have that attention and love.

Winnie

Winnie is about 11-12 months of age. She appears to be Shepherd/Terrier mix of some sort. She is medium sized and coloring is tan with white. Winnie was surrendered to our shelter with a lot of information we will share: She is sweet, cuddly and playful. Likes adults and is good with babies. She cuddled with her previous owner's grandson. Just a very loveable girl. She gets attached easy to her humans. Winnie doesn't like being on a leash, so will need training. According to Winnie's previous owner, Winnie is house trained and she knows commands 'Sit' and 'Stay'.

Wrigley

UPDATE=Trying out a home for a week! Wrigley is 5-6 years of age and is a mixed breed: mainly Shar-pei, but perhaps some Shepherd or Shiba Inu in the mix (according to Dog Scanner). He was surrendered due to owners out of town issues and unable to adequately give Wrigley enough attention. Wrigley loves to run and play, loves to fetch, but not return. He will cuddle when relaxed. He does like routine. Wrigley is good inside and is well housebroken. He always sleeps indoors. He has a medium length coat, which is tri-colored. Wrigley is a sweet dog and very friendly with men, women and children. Wrigley is good with other dogs. He will need a tall, secure fence if left outdoors alone, as he can jump a fence if he choses to do so. He is afraid of thunder and lightning.

Xena

Xena is a white Boxer mix. She is 1 1/2 to 2 years of age. Xena is very friendly and loves people. She is leash trained. Xena just had puppies on May 6, 2025, and has been such a good momma to those babies.
