Volunteer

Volunteers are welcome and necessary to accomplish all we do!  If you need volunteer hours for a class, or for personal satisfaction, fill out and bring in a completed volunteer application. We have many tasks at our shelter during office hours (Tuesday-Saturday 12p-5p) and occasionally at offsite events. We are currently in need of a long-term, one-day-a-week, cat building volunteer. Do you enjoy social media? Have accounting, PR or fundraising skills? We need your expertise!  Please dress appropriately for on-site work-closed toe shoes & long pants.

Foster

Fostering in your home is typically for kittens, puppies, or for animals with medical concerns.  Keeping animals in foster until they can be vaccinated, reach a certain age or have healed keeps them safe when they come into a shelter setting.  Fostering saves lives! Please complete the foster application if this is of interest to you.

Spay/Neuter

We promote the benefits of spay & neuter and our adopted animals are sterilized as part of the adoption fee.  Our community suffers from a serious overpopulation of dogs and cats and we want to be part of the solution.  There are several local options for low cost sterilization.  We have partnered with Lone Star Veterinary Services to offer a low cost spay/neuter program. We need to sterilize not only our own pets, but also stray neighborhood animals.  We, as a community, are all responsible for caring for the animals living here & reducing overpopulation and the problems that result from it.
